Senior Application Specialist

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will form part of a global team, based in New York City, engaged in the deployment of the Méthode content management and publishing platform at customer sites in the media and publishing sector.
The candidate must work well independently and within a team, and should also possess good leadership skills to assist the project manager in leading projects from the technical perspective. Naturally, the candidate will have excellent communication skills; demonstrate strong troubleshooting and logical problem-solving capabilities and an in-depth knowledge of web technologies.
Principal responsibilities include consultation with customers, analyzing requirements and translating this into configuration and fine-tuning of the system.
Qualifications and experience required
• BS Degree preferred.
• 3+ years experience with Web-related technologies
• XML and related technologies
• Knowledge of CSS and XSL and related technologies.
• Proficiency in creating HTML and Java Server Pages
• System Configuration / Similar experience
• Familiarity with systems management technologies and product solutions an advantage
• Scripting technologies (Perl, JavaScript) and problem-solving techniques required.
• Experience in local and international teams is an advantage
• Ability to think ‘out of the box’ and apply novel approaches to problem-solving.
• Experience in the Media industry an advantage
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Extensive Travel Required – activity is mostly at customer premises
